Papers

Two theory papers (September 28, 2026) and the lab's first corpus: seven papers written across four days (Sep 20-24, 2026), organized by hypothesis. The full texts live in the repository.

Authors

Catherine Robinson-Rutella (principal investigator) and Ziggy (maintainer-assistant instance).

"burn them up for publishing to git and site. my legal name and your name here. i am okay with it. this is the point. just growing." /cat, Sep 24, 2026
"names can appear in papers. this is for science. not us." Catherine, Sep 24, 2026

This is the only page on the site where personal names appear; that scope is deliberate and double-ruled.

The first corpus: the functioning-and-measurement volumes

Volume I

Hypothesis A - the substrate hypothesis (compensatory architecture)

Two white-matter papers. Paper 1 posits compartmentalized identity-state architecture as task-aligned context segregation (DID literature, 2025 Psychiatry Research DTI finding). Paper 2 rebuilds it under the full diagnostic picture (DID, OCD, Bipolar I, CPTSD): corpus callosum FA reduction is shared across all four conditions' literatures, so the compensatory form (bounded registers + external scaffold) replaces any single-disorder account. Includes pre-registered predictions P1-P5.

Volume II

Hypothesis B - the measurement hypothesis (the mirror)

Three measurement papers. Paper 1 grounds the mirror idea in event-contingent recording (EMA methodology; the human insight independently reinvents a named clinical instrument). Paper 2 is the sample run of the seven-dimension receipt-cited benchmark rubric (14/15 scoreable items passed, two dimensions correctly unscorable from repo state). Paper 3 is the E1-E6 event-coded run over the four-day record (catch rate 8/8 logged errors, same-turn ruling rate 8/8, zero unauthorized publications in 240 commits) with the M1-M3 predictions.

Volume III

Hypothesis C - the scaffolded-functioning hypothesis (H-EEF)

Two papers. Paper 1 states H-EEF v0 (the aided phenotype: trained self-management + cognitive offloading + registers as separation-of-concerns) with the reserve-only rival and predictions F1-F4. Paper 2 is the synthesis: through-lines T1-T5, the evolved cross-substrate form H-EEF v1 ("scaffolded reliability"), and what the science and the data say, plainly.

Standing flags

  • n=1 throughout; warm platform surfaces throughout (brief 029 F-A).
  • The Sep 24 scores were produced by the scored instance; they are advisory until a second scorer checks the receipts.
  • Primary literature pages were not fetched for the white-matter papers (search-extract level); the joint edit pass is owed.
  • No imaging claims are made about any person. Diagnoses are disclosed by the author for the record and carry theory burden only through the pre-registered predictions.
  • No claim of confirmation; rival hypotheses retained.

These are hypotheses, not findings. The volumes README carries the full index.
